What to Expect on Sunday Morning
Visiting for the first time? We worship at 9:00am on Sunday morning. Here's what you can expect when you come to visit.
Arriving
To come to worship at Trinity is to take a beautiful Sunday drive into one of the most picturesque spots of the Shenandoah Valley. When you arrive, you'll be greeted by a fantastic view of Massanutten Mountain opposite our hillside location. Enter the parking area at the higher end, pull in, and park at an angle like the other cars. The church building itself is pretty simple. Enter the front doors which lead directly onto the main level and our sanctuary. You can also enter the side door which leads directly into the newly renovated basement level, featuring a lift for the handicapped, the fellowship hall and bathrooms.
Worship Service
Our worship takes us from confessing our sins and hearing God's forgiveness through singing, listening to the weekly message, praying for the world, and celebrating Holy Communion. Worship is a relatively intimate experience here as we are a smaller community. We think that has its benefits. We know each other and we hear each other - we are truly one Body. Everything is clearly explained in our worship booklets and Pastor Bill provides additional explanation throughout the service. More on worship can be found here.
Children
At Trinity, children are central to our worship. Children are invited to participate in all of worship, and there is a special children's time to talk about the day's Bible readings with Pastor Bill. We do have a nursery room where parents can go with kids if anyone needs a break. Feel free to come and go as you need to. Jesus said "let the little children come" - he meant it, and we do too!
Sunday School
Our Sunday School proceeds immediately following the worship service, at about 10:15. There is always coffee and usually some goodies to munch on as the Adult class discusses today's readings. Children's Sunday School happens at the same time with a story-centered, activity-rich curriculum. On the third Sunday of the month, we have a fellowship meal (it's basically brunch) together before Sunday School begins.
Music
Trinity has a long tradition of beautiful sacred music in worship. For a church our size, we're not too modest to say the music is truly exceptional. We are a singing congregation, but feel free to simply listen if singing is not your thing!
